BIOGRAPHY

 

His appearances at a series of nights at the North Terrace pub in Newcastle led to the formation of Newcastle alternative rockers “Columbus Dixon” with Christian at the helm.

 

The band became the main output for his songwriting, but he never abandoned his acoustic roots and performed regularly as a solo act on the Newcastle acoustic scene, before moving to Cumbria in 2005.  

 

Strong songs, insightful lyrics, and a vibrant ‘unfussy’ guitar style are all key to his sound.

This coupled with an amiable yet powerful presence, results in a live performance that is good-natured, self-effacing, yet passionate and engaging. The music is hard to describe (as a lot of music is, let‘s face it) and impossible to pigeon-hole, feisty, melodic, intelligent, no-nonsense, alternative, rock-tinged acoustic music is a pretty good description.

 

As well as performing within the UK, Christian has played solo in the USA - along the Californian West Coast in November 2003 and in Atlanta in September 2007.  His first ‘proper’ solo recording, the 5-track EP “Miscast Rhinos” was recorded at Driftwood Studios, Cumbria and was released on September 2nd 2007.
